Sales Associate

room is a boutique furniture and home décor store with a mission to spark the conversation of great design in Buffalo, NY.  We believe that ‘creativity is community’ and are looking to add a Part-Time Sales Associate with industry experience to our retail team.

Sales Associate Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus is to generate sales to meet expected sales goals

  • Establish relationships with customers to offer exemplary customer service

  • Gain and maintain knowledge of product assortment and offering

  • Assist with all day-to-day store functions and maintenance as needed

  • Oversee/perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Retail & Sales Coordinator 

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings

  • Assist in visual presentation standards

  • Assist in sales operations

  • Assist Retail & Sales Coordinator with customer satisfaction and follow-up procedures

Sales Associate Qualifications / Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of computer functions

  • Attention to detail and self-starter

  • Ability to prepare cost estimates

  • Desire for product knowledge

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Flexible availability within business hours

    • Must be able to work weekends

    • Work 20 - 25 hours per week

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in retail setting / furniture or high-end sales a plus
